So I go to The Makeup Show and not buy anything….Pshhh.  Here’s my score from the show.

First I snagged two of Naked Cosmetics mica mineral pigment collections and a smaller jar of the Advanced Skin Cream.  The minerals can be used for anything and mixed to design custom eyeshadows, lipsticks, blush, eyeliner, etc. etc.  The cream combines a moisturizer and primer in one step, also it’s organic and very good for your skin.  (Website)

Embryolisse is new to me but is known as an insiders secret.  It’s called the “24 hour miracle” because it quickly erases and hydrates overly dry and scaly skin…..AND it’s a fraction of the cost of most of those top of the line creams that do the same thing.  (Website)

Every time I go to a show I grab a handful of Crown brushes.  I need multiple sets with weddings or other events where I’m applying makeup on a few ladies.  They’re extremely great brushes for the price.  (Website)

This was my splurge at this show.  I starter kit with CoverFX.  Created in a dermatologists office, CoverFX is known for their highly pigmented creams that mimic the quality of skin.  You can go as light at you want or keep building and cover a tattoo.  Angelina Jolie requests CoverFX when she’s getting her makeup done for a big event or needs her tattoos covered for a movie.  (Website)

To protect all my makeup investments I scooped up a bottle of Beauty So Clean sanitizer.  A quick spray on pressed powders or creams and it cleans, removes bacteria, and brings life back to the makeup.  (Website)

The more airbrush the merrier…Temptu did makeovers all day as well.

I was a bit upset I walked out of the show without any OCC products, especially their lip tars (not pictured), oh well, maybe next year.

The fabulous Glamcor was giving away small inserts to their professional bags–SCORE!  These bags were seriously amazing though!  I’m in total lust.

This show was absolutely amazing and I had a complete blast all day.  Next year I really want to attend both days…which only means more pics for you ladies haha.

What an absolutely amazing show!!!  I had the greatest time and everyone was sooo friendly and helpful to talk to.  The Makeup Show is held a few times a year in select cities (2012: LA, NYC, Chicago, Europe-Berlin, and Orlando).  This show is a makeup artist’s dream.  Classes are held all day, booths do presentations, and there’s even hands-on workshops you can enroll in.  Although it’s usually a two day show I could only attend on Monday since Mother’s Day was Sunday.

I had to split this coverage post into two different posts just because I took sooooo many pics for you ladies.

Kevin James Bennett is great to see work, I love his tell it how it is approach.  He worked with Naked Cosmetics for this presentation.

Lori Taylor for Smashbox said she was sooo nervous because she doesn’t normally do live shows but I think she killed it!  She does gorgeous work and it such a beautiful woman.

Unii was great surprise, I have two already so I scooped up another at the show!

Hakuhodo Japanese brushes…crazy display!

OK…this was nuts.  Glitzy Lips was demonstrating their product and boy did it give these girls some POP!

Kett did a mixture of airbrushing and hand painted on lace.  It was pretty intricate up close.

Crown brushes is where I load up.  Such great quality for the price, especially when you need multiple sets for weddings and such.

So I’m glad I decided to give Birchbox another month or so before cancelling.  This month was great!  I will be proudly using all of these products.  I’m excited most about the Ojon conditioner because well I just did a review for them here and they have such amazing products.  I’m also excited about the Stila eye liner and hair tie, can’t have to many of either of them, and having another BB cream on hand it not a bad thing, I want to do an article for you soon on them in general.  I guess I’m pretty much excited about this whole box! haha.

Hello magnetic nail polish!  But before we get into that I wanted to share that I normally get the “Boho Glam” box.  Every month they reveal what all the boxes are containing and if you want to add on to your current box or simply switch to another one.  This month I took a leap and went for the “It Girl” box that had three sun loving shades.  A light orange named Ashley and a sunny yellow dubbed Nessa.  I simply think it’s great that with keeping in tune with the girlfriend movement all the polishes have cute names.

This month the special color was Kylie, a light plum color that when used with the supplied magnet produces amazing stripes that create the illusion that your nails are metal.  This was my first go at using a metallic nail polish and you really have to be careful you don’t hit your nail with the magnet.  I was overly surprised at how it quickly it worked, took just seconds to do!

3D Lashes Volumizing & Thickening Mascara

Lorac makes some of the greatest mini kits I’ve seen on the market.  They’re reasonably priced and have full sized products to love.  That’s how I got to try 3D Lashes mascara, it was originally part of “this kit“.  I fell instantly for the baked eye shadow trio and the liquid liner pen.  Mascara is a hard one to win me over though.

3D Lashes features cool packaging with this prism Lorac print on the tube.  The wand was on the skinny side with plastic bristles.  I loved the curved feature of their wand, it really seemed to hug my lashes during application.  The formula on the other hand I was not to in love with.  As the bristles were doing such an amazing job of separating my lashes, the formula really lacked on creating that full dramatic look.  A lot of mascaras do a great job on building on itself to create that drama, this mascara didn’t want to fully do that.  With that said, this mascara was great when used in combination with others that are a little clumpy like Urban Decay’s Big Fatty.  I apply this first to separate, then apply Big Fatty, followed by a few passes with 3D again to separate.

I would recommend this to a girl who is trying to get the most for her buck since it was included in such a great bundle.  3D Lashes would also be great for a lady looking for a lighter more natural look.
