May Birchbox

So I’m glad I decided to give Birchbox another month or so before cancelling.  This month was great!  I will be proudly using all of these products.  I’m excited most about the Ojon conditioner because well I just did a review for them here and they have such amazing products.  I’m also excited about the Stila eye liner and hair tie, can’t have to many of either of them, and having another BB cream on hand it not a bad thing, I want to do an article for you soon on them in general.  I guess I’m pretty much excited about this whole box! haha.

  • BVLGARI omnia crystalline perfume
  • Dr. Jart + waterfuse BB cream
  • Ojon volume advance volumizing conditioner

May Julep Maven

Hello magnetic nail polish!  But before we get into that I wanted to share that I normally get the “Boho Glam” box.  Every month they reveal what all the boxes are containing and if you want to add on to your current box or simply switch to another one.  This month I took a leap and went for the “It Girl” box that had three sun loving shades.  A light orange named Ashley and a sunny yellow dubbed Nessa.  I simply think it’s great that with keeping in tune with the girlfriend movement all the polishes have cute names.

This month the special color was Kylie, a light plum color that when used with the supplied magnet produces amazing stripes that create the illusion that your nails are metal.  This was my first go at using a metallic nail polish and you really have to be careful you don’t hit your nail with the magnet.  I was overly surprised at how it quickly it worked, took just seconds to do!

April Birchbox

I’m sorry to report that this month was a real let down for me with Birchbox.  Our love affair may be ending sooner than I thought.  I was overly pleased with the first couple months but since has been going downhill…and fast.  I’m starting to think that the beauty profile questions really don’t play to much in what you will receive a particular month.  Not to say that any of these products are not good or useful to some ladies, they’re just not something I really would need.

Theme: Natural Wonders

Contents:

  • Benta Berry G-1 exfoliating facial cleanser
  • Pangea Organics lip balm
  • Weleda pomegranate firming day cream
  • Wonderstruck  Taylor Swift
  • Beauty Extras: Pangea Organics facial scrub and eye cream

April Julep Maven

I found two more reasons to love the Julep Maven program this month.  Number one being you get your box the first week of the month, seriously I think this box came on like the 2nd.  Number two being they sent out an email the week before about adding any of the other monthly shades to your box for only $4.99 more!  I got two shades, one I’m giving away on my facebook page so make sure to go over there and find out how you can win it!

Ok…my box was the cutest darn thing EVER.  It came all wrapped in pink paper with a lime green ribbon, tucked inside were also two pedicure toe spacers.  This was all surrounded with green shredded paper and chocolate eggs.  I think Julep should get first place in packaging–wins me over every month!

My colors this month were Molly, a classic red, and Alyson, a nude shade.  For my optional add on I got Susie, a super light mint green.  My treatment for April was a tube of The Best Pedi Creme Ever!<—that’s the name haha.  In all seriousness…it really was quite amazing.  My heels were smoother after just two uses.

March Birchbox

Theme:  Spring Training

Contents:

  • Color Club nail lacquer in age of aquarius
  • Harvy Prince ageless
  • Lulu Organics lavender + clary sage hair powder
  • One Love Organics skin savior waterless beauty balm
  • Supergoop sunscreen swipes
  • Tea Forte skin-smart teas

I unfortunately was not overly crazy about this months Birchbox.  I’ve been hoping for more makeup related samples.  :sigh:  On the bright side though I did get a small adorable teal nail polish just in time for St. Patty’s Day (I got my box last week).  And although I mainly subscribe for the beauty items the tea was a nice treat–and quite delicious!

Here’s hoping April brings more glam!
